Attacks targeting the systems of large corporations are increasingly exploiting vulnerabilities within the supply chain, particularly subsidiaries and third-party suppliers. Due to the external nature of these attacks, corporations face challenges in countering them independently. Hiroaki Fukatani from Zscaler has highlighted the effectiveness of "multi-tenant and cloud-native security measures" in mitigating such attacks.
“The head office has the capability to address third-party risks by spearheading deployments to subsidiaries and overseas sites, ensuring consistent implementation of head office-level policies across the entire organization. Integrated log management enables the acquisition of valuable insights, such as indications of potential attacks, from the entire organization,” said Mr. Fukatani, praising the approach for its remarkable effectiveness. Zscaler offers multi-tenant and cloud-based security measures that are equally effective in safeguarding against supply chain attacks.
Continuing the discussion, Mr. Fukatani highlighted the effectiveness of Deception Technology as a novel approach to combating threats. This technology, aptly named "Deception," takes a proactive stance by turning the tables on attackers, actively thwarting their advances instead of passively waiting for them.
“Conventional security measures followed a passive approach by deploying sensors along potential attacker pathways and pursuing identified threats. In contrast, Deception Technology takes a proactive defense stance by creating a premeditated environment with enticing ‘decoys’ to lure in attackers and actively eliminate them upon entry. This active defense strategy proves to be more aggressive than passive approaches, offering a more effective means of apprehending attackers,” Mr. Fukatani added.
Furthermore, he emphasized how Zscaler not only offers security measures but also serves as a valuable partner in driving customer digital transformation (DX) and fostering business innovation. The company's culture is deeply ingrained with a commitment to comprehending the unique business objectives of its customers before suggesting tailored services. Zscaler aims to fulfill its role as a trusted partner in Japan, assisting companies in their journey toward digital transformation.
