The world of cyberattacks has changed greatly over the past five years, with ransomware becoming the biggest threat. Losses globally exceed 3 trillion yen to USD 20 Billion, and the time from the initiation of an attack to extortion demands has been greatly shortened to just 24 hours. Corporations lack sufficient security personnel even while they are tasked with protecting an average of 130 applications per firm. Yuji Hirokawa, President and Representative Director of Secureworks Japan, warned that the conventional approach of using individual siloed security tools is not enough to deal with attacks that exploit the gaps.

For confronting new threats, Extended Detection and Response (XDR), a unified security platform, is a must. What is important, in other words, is centrally gathering and managing data from all resources in a company connected to cyber space, such as endpoints, network, cloud and emails, discovering latent threats, and containing them.

The solution provided by Secureworks, with 25 years of experience in security measures, is Taegis XDR, which boasts high detection capability. Adopting an open architecture, it connects to more than 350 platforms and gathers data from them. It identifies important threats using correlation analysis, combining AI and threat intelligence, and enables immediate response.

One Taegis XDR service portfolio includes the SOC (Security Operation Center) service, Managed XDR, which has been introduced by around 4,000 firms globally and approximately 200 firms in Japan. Moriyuki Tani, SE Team Lead in the Solution Technology Department of Secureworks Japan, explained that in addition to the basic service, XDR Plus for meeting needs specific to an organization, as well as XDR Elite for industry-specific threats, are also available. A wide range of add-on services can meet specific security needs, and threat monitoring specialized to the OT (operational technology) area is offered as well.
